Marathon training - Building the core

The training schedule I’m following is one that has 3 “hard” days, 1 “moderate” day and 2 “easy” days of running. I even get to take one day off a week if I want.  That means no joggling on Fridays.
On the easy days I like to add some core training exercises and the [...]

The Start of Joggling Marathon Training

Today is the second day of my training. My personalized training scheduled called for a steady 5 mile run. The hardest part was skipping the basketball game that was going on on the court below me. I really enjoy playing basketball. But I’m in training mode now. No more b-ball [...]

Training for the next running and juggling marathon

Alright, today was supposed to be the start of my next marathon training schedule. Unfortunately, I haven’t had a chance to create it. Well, let me do it today.
For the last marathon I followed Hal Higdon’s 18 week Advanced Training I schedule. It was ok but I didn’t achieve the results that [...]

On vacation

Sorry about the lack of posts recently. I’ve been out on vacation in South Carolina since last Friday. I will be back to regular blogging and joggling next Monday. If I get time I might get a post up here and there but don’t count on it.

Joggler Press

Chicago Tribune - Thursday, October 26, 2006
This was an interview they did right at the end of the race. It’s not my best picture but it was fun to see in the paper. I especially liked that they have me juggling and 2 of the balls are in the air. (Click on [...]

The next race - Creating a training program

I’m in that awkward phase of the running calendar where I just completed joggling a marathon but it’s too soon to start training for the next one. I’ve already decided on the race that I want to do (Toronto Waterfront Marathon) and that happens on September 24, 2006. That’s 104 days away. [...]

Staying focused - Tips on thinking during a long joggle

I was perusing Windy City Sports and found an interesting article by John Mora about how to stay focused during a long run. (I’ve liked this magazine ever since they did a short write-up on me back in October of 2004).
Anyway, the article gave three tips for staying focused during a long run. [...]

Joggling for a cause - Do you need one?

Looking at some of my fellow joggler’s websites (Zach & Michal) makes me wonder…Should I start joggling for a cause? Now, I just do it because I can. Do you think I should figure out some cause and try to raise money through my joggling? Or is it just fine that I like [...]

Joggling in the media

I just received the latest issue of Runner’s World and was pleased to see that joggling got a mention. On page 12 they mention that Zach Warren set the new world record for joggling a marathon (2:58:23). The two most impressive things about the effort 1) He ran the second half of the [...]

How to joggle - Tricks for the crowd

As a marathon joggler, you do not want to take too much time off. While you can’t start running hard again for at least a couple of weeks, you also can’t just stop exercising completely. You get out of shape quickly!
So yesterday my wife, some friends, and I participated in the Wonder Girl 5K run [...]
