Juggling fest in Aurora Illinois

In the event that you happen to be in Illinois the weekend of October 6 thru 8, you should check out the Up For Grabs Juggling fest. Here is a copy of the email they sent me.
Hello Jugglers!!
We, the members of the Up For Grabs Juggling Club in Aurora, Illinois
(an IJA Affiliate), will be [...]

51 marathons in 51 days

Sam Thompson just finished his 51st marathon in 51 days. Just when I thought a goal of 44 marathons over a lifetime was tough, this guy does 51 in 51 days. I’d love to try something like that but there are 2 things that hold me back. One, I couldn’t get [...]

Who else wants to eat candy bars and still feel good about themselves?

Today’s joggle was a 10-miler down by Lake Michigan. It was a good run (not great) but I finished it in 84 minutes. The best part were the people. I got lots of smiles and kind comments as a joggled by. The worst part was a big black pick-up truck [...]

A game to train your juggling mind

I found this FREE juggling game and it is pretty amusing. Check it out and see how well your hand-eye coordination is for juggling. Of course it is no substitute for actual joggling but when you can’t get outside, it’s fun.
Incidentally, my top score is 438.

Juggling joke

A friend of mine forwarded me this juggling joke. It made me laugh so I’ll pass it along here. Unfortunately, I can’t give credit to the author because I don’t know who wrote it.
A Pennsylvania State Trooper pulled a car over on I-81
about two miles north of the PA/MD state line. When
the trooper [...]

McDonalds ice cream nutrition scam?

Ok, I admit it. I LOVE McDonalds soft serve ice cream. It is one of my favorite treats after a long joggle, softball game, or road trip. At a mere 150 calories, it’s a great choice compared to things like candy bars, soda pop, and donuts. That’s why I was appalled to see [...]

An international joggling showdown

The great folks responsible for the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon have put together this joggling press release about the upcoming showdown between the Chicago Joggler (me) and the awesome Canadian Joggler, Michal Kapral. It’s a real hoot. I’m really looking forward to this race. I’ve never actually run with another joggler before, [...]

7 tips for running in the sand

If you happen to be taking a vacation by a beach you can try your hand at sand joggling. This is simply running while juggling on the sand. I suppose it could’ve been juggling sand but I find it so hard to catch those tiny crystals.
According to most running gurus, running in the [...]

Do you run on vacation?

It seems I’ve been on vacation a lot this summer. That’s a good thing…mostly. I really miss putting up blog entries. To tell you the truth, I like blogging almost as much as I like joggling. If only I could figure out some way to make money doing one or the [...]

How do you know if you should lose weight?

To run fast, it helps to be light. It’s just a fact that less energy is needed to move less weight. I’m a joggler who weighs in at 195 lbs. That’s not bad at my height (6′1″) but it’s not good if I want to be the fastest marathon joggler in the [...]
