It seems that I’m not the only one who’s had to brave the snow and cold running these days. I may be the only winter time joggler but who knows? Here’s a roundup of other runners out there showing the weather that it just can’t keep a good runner down.
1. It seems [...]

Here’s an interesting study reported on at NPR. It seems that people are able to improve their physical fitness just by thinking about it. This same technique could be used to improve your joggling and even your juggling ability.
Maid study
Researchers at Harvard studied a group of maids and their exercise habits. They [...]

After practicing every day this year for 5 minutes in the morning and sometimes 5 minutes at night, I’ve finally accomplished my goal of balancing a hat on my nose for more than 1 minute. Yesterday, I did it for 1:10.
No video of my PR but here’s one that demonstrates some progress.
So, what’s [...]

I was saddened to read this story about teen jogger Alison Draves who was accidentally hit and killed by a car. Exercise is supposed to prolong your life not shorten it. But it’s a reminder that running and joggling is not without it’s dangers. Especially if you are doing it outside while [...]

I hate joggling in the cold.
The wind stings your face.
Your clothes are so tight and heavy, it’s difficult to move.
Tears form in your eyes, freeze and make tiny icicles on your eyelashes.
Your fully-charged iPod stops working after 30 minutes.
Your glasses fog up as you breathe into your neck gaiter.
With every step, you feel the pounding [...]

Bounce juggling is pretty cool but this one is just great. It’s amazing how well the balls bounce in that triangle. This is juggler Michael Moschen.
I wonder how difficult it would be to do some bounce joggling?

Today, the weather in Chicago is a sunny but balmy 3F (-16C) with 15 mph winds. It’s cold. It’s the cold that stings your cheeks and makes your ears feel like they’ve been cut off. It hurts to be outside.
But no one said keeping a joggling streak alive would be easy. [...]

Joggling is fun and that’s the primary reason I do it. But the reason I started running back in 1993 was strictly for the health of it. Living to 107 required some exercising and running was the cheapest sport I’d could find.
I also read the book Fit or Fat and was inspired by [...]

Yesterday, I was in the coffee room at work waiting for my tea water to heat up in the microwave. Since it takes 2 minutes, I spent that spare time balancing a wooden brush on my nose. Balancing things on your nose is a great thing to do while you have a couple [...]

Back in August there was this post on How to Break a World Record. It was a forward looking piece because I had never actually done it. The good news is that all of the steps in there were correct. Unfortunately, step 4 kinda glossed over the paperwork part and the rest [...]
