No time for a formal blog post today, but I wanted to report that I will be joggling the Shamrock Shuffle 8K today. One of the countries biggest 8K races. It should be fun. Right now however, I regretting the 14+ mile run that I did yesterday. I’m incredibly sore.
More details after the race.

As regular readers of JYAJ, you may have figured out that my favorite number is 44. I’m actually a fan of numbers in general and was pleased to find this Archimedes-lab site.
In it, you can get answered the question you’re no doubt wondering, “what is special about my favorite number?”
Just go to the website [...]

Last Sunday was my final really long joggling training run for the London marathon. 20 miles of pure joggling fun. Typical of this year’s Chicago winter, it was snowy. The bulk of the snow fell on Saturday so what was left were patches of ice, crunchy snow banks and mounds of mud mixed ice crystals [...]

I found this entry in the Merriam-Webster online dictionary a bit troubling. According to them the term joggle means “to shake slightly” or “to move shakily or jerkily”. That’s not right! There’s nothing shaky about joggling. In fact, it’s a smooth fluid motion as you can see from any of these [...]

Friend and fellow international joggler Hendrick recently completed his second joggling 10K. He heard many different comments and came up with a list of responses that any joggler could use.
Joggling Responses
As a joggler, you’ll get lots of comments from spectators and other runners. See this previous post for a list of the most [...]

At an enjoyable dinner the other evening, my father-in-law inquired about my latest project for 2008. Familiar with previous year’s projects such as the running/joggling streak, food tracking log, week without spending money, the donut nix of 2006, the nut diet, etc., he was curious about the new year.
I told him about the Push-up [...]

Here’s a thought exercise you can use to pass time while you’re joggling, driving in the car or otherwise engaged in something requiring little mental activity.
I have this friend who has the interesting habit of alphabetizing any word she hears. You can tell her a word and she’ll spell it back for you with the [...]

With only 32 days left until the London Marathon, I can finally report a couple of good workouts.
On Sunday, I did a 19 mile joggling run in 2:34. Not particularly fast, but light years better than the previous week when I did 17 miles at an 8:45/mile pace. Best of all I felt good [...]

Here is a handy weight tool for anyone who is interested in how much the “experts” think you should weigh.
Just put in your height and it will tell you how much you should weigh.
I’m right at the top of the healthy weight range (189 lbs). Not the way to be a fast joggler.
And try [...]
