The color of joggling

I read this interesting story about how color can affect your brain. It turns out that when you need to do an attention demanding task you should be primed with the color Red. When you need to do something more creative, go with Blue.

So, the question occured to me, what is the best color for juggling equipment?

Red or Blue

If you are working on a new trick, the best color to use would be blue juggling equipment.

If you are practicing a trick and trying to get better, then red equipment might be better.

Joggling with color

Of course, the your brain isn’t the only thing to consider when thinking about colors for joggling. You have to think about what color shirt to wear too. For a joggling a race, I’ve used the following colors.

1. Red
2. White
3. Blue
4. Yellow
5. Green
6. Purple

Of these, I think Red is probably best because it stands out the most and there aren’t a lot of people who wear red. However, purple may be better as there are even fewer people who wear purple. It just doesn’t stand out as much because it’s not as bright.

Most important though is that you should wear a shirt color that contrasts with the juggling bags. If they blend in you could pass people who wouldn’t even notice your joggling. Of course, if this is what you want then blend away.

What color shirt do you wear? Do you even think about it?

I like red, green, or blue shirts and white juggling balls. White juggling balls go well with everything besides white shirts, so you can’t lose with those. If I use my blue MMX balls, then dark colored shirts do not shoe up with it. One of my joggling videos I did spontaneously without thinking about that, features the blue balls and a black shirt and I was dissapointed because after seeing the video I realized that it’s hard to see the contrast, especially on video! What the eyes see in real life, if much different than what a camera lense or video picks up.

I think in a race, white balls might be lost in the sea of white shirts. But you are right, white bean bags do provide a nice contrast with almost any colored shirt.

Wow, a lot of typos and run on sentences in that last entry… You can tell I am in a hurry. dark shirts and blue balls don’t “match” up well.

I am not sure if that would be true or not, Perry because people are going to always see your juggling balls against your shirt. I think white contrasts the best with any background color besides white. Lighter colored balls in general I think are the best (yellows, white, orange). But, hey, as long as where the proper shirt that contrasts with the balls, then you should be good to go.
