I played a double header in softball today. I must say I love playing softball almost as much as I love joggling. Our team ended up winning both games and finished the regular season undefeated! We’ll have to see if we can keep it going during the playoffs but things are looking good. It’s pretty rare in life that you get a chance to be the best at something so I’m hoping we can do it.
On my third at bat (I had already had two singles) I launched one over the right fielder’s head. It was a really good shot and it ended up being a home run. Unfortunately, I twisted something in my lower back and was in excruciating pain the rest of the time. I couldn’t run, I couldn’t bend over, I could barely move without any pain. Somehow I managed to gut it out and finish the game, then play a second game. I only had three more at bats in the and managed 2 singles and a double but geez it hurt.
Now, it hurts to even walk around. I don’t know how I’m going to do tomorrow’s run. I’m not going to let a simple injury stop my 1314 day streak but I don’t think I’ll run too far. Was hoping to do a 10 or 12 miler tomorrow. Don’t think that’s going to happen.
Any suggestions on what to do about an injured back?
Ice doesn’t seem to help. Stretching hasn’t helped much either. Hopefully, a good night’s sleep will make it all right tomorrow.
