While doing a little research related to McDonalds and whether it was healthy, I stumbled
on this story about Joe D’Amico, a fellow Chicago area runner who did a 30 day McDonald diet leading up to his attempt to run the Los Angeles Marathon.
It seems like it was pretty big news at the time. I wonder how I missed it.
Anyway, he managed to complete his feat and even set a PR with an impressive time of 2:36:14. (Blasted runners!)
So, I guess he proves that you can eat McDonalds every day and remain healthy, especially if you are training for a marathon.
Incidentally, he also raised $29,000 for the Ronald McDonald House Charities.
Great job Joe!
Now, I wonder if he would be interested in going for the Joggling Marathon World Record. hmmmm

That’s a neat article and a good thing what he did for RMH charity.
I am sure you can train on a McDonald’s diet and have plenty of energy to train and do a race successfully.
Whether he remained “healthy” is another debate though. Did they did blood sugar, HDL/LDL Cholesterol screenings, etc. like they did on Spurlock in Super Size Me movie? I mean just because you can run fast and probably keep off the weight because of high mileage, definitely doesn’t mean he was “healthy.” My main point is, you can be of normal weight and still be “unhealthy” if the food you’re eating is pretty bad for your system.
What do you think Perry?
