After completing my 1520th day of joggling I felt pretty satisfied with myself. It hasn’t always been easy to go out joggling every single day over the past 4 plus years, but I’ve done it. I made it through sicknesses, bad weather, crazy travel schedules, the drama of life and even some extremely painful injuries. The streak has lived.
But did you know that my joggling streak isn’t actually the longest?
That’s right, there is one joggler who has been doing it longer. In fact, on March 10th, 2013, Andy Swan will celebrate his 5-year joggling streak anniversary! Here’s an excerpt from an email he recently sent me…
Hi Perry,Good to see your still joggling! Me too. Once I get to March 10 I’ll have 5 years straight! Its been fun. Sacramento going thru a little cold spell – nothing like you’re consistently joggling in, I take my hat off to you. Keep up the great job on your website! Try getting some sorborthane shoe inserts about $25 a pair they are great and I feel they really protect the feet from pounding.Happy Joggling Andy“Catch me if you can!”
There are times when I think of stopping the streak. I’ve long passed my original goal of 1001 days and don’t really have a set ending point. I jokingly say that my joggling streak will go on for another 23,309 days (the date of my eventual demise). But then I think of Andy and his streak. I just can’t stop until I’ve caught up. So, as long as the joggling streak master is still going, I’m going to keep going.

PS. Incidentally, I think Andy once told me he was inspired to start his joggling streak when he read about my original joggling streak (I ended that one after 444 days).
