Every year I create this list of goals and 2013 was no exception. Here is my 2013 goal list. You can see that there are goals about health, relationships, personal development, impact on the world, and business goals too. I find this kind of thing keeps me motivated for the year and I’m incredibly productive in January.
Anyway, there was something new that I did this year however. Rather than just make a list of goals and a plan to achieve them, I also made a list of things that I like to do. I sat down for about 30 or 45 minutes and just listed everything I could thing of that was what I liked to do. Things like play euchre, juggle, joggle, play the ukulele, etc. Just stuff I like to do. I didn’t worry about how specific I was but I tried to be as specific as I could without being redundant. Juggling on the beach and juggling in a park are pretty much the same so that just becomes juggling.
After making the list, the next step is to make sure that I do each of these things at least once during the year. That way I know that at least once this year I will do everything that I like to do. So, I challenge you to take the What Do You Like To Do Challenge. Here’s how.
Step 1 – Make a list of everything you like to do. Google docs spreadsheet is useful for this.
Step 2 – Create a spreadsheet to track whether you’ve done an activity or not.
Step 3 – Do all of the activities on your list at some point during the year.
Perry’s list
Alright, in case you are wondering, here is my
list of things that I like to do.
You can see as of January 21, 2013, I’ve completed 24% of the 137 things that I like to do.
