Shoes tell you when they need replacing

Here’s something I might need. According to this patent, Apple has created a shoe that has a sensor which tells you when the shoe needs to be replacedrunning shoes

Of course, some people might think that you should just be able to look at your shoes and tell whether they are worn out or not. Not so with my shoes. Typically, I let my legs tell me whether my running shoes are done with or not. My standard distance on a pair of shoes is about 400 – 500 miles. However, if they go through a Chicago winter like the one we’re having this year, they don’t last nearly as long.

A sensor like this might be helpful. Although an even more useful one for me would be one that tracks how many miles I’ve put on the shoe. I wonder if there is anything like that?

Also, I wonder if we could do a similar thing for juggling balls. I know the ones I have now are probably ready to be retired. They juggle just fine. It’s just that they are starting to look a bit weathered. Gballz last a long time but I’m approaching 2200 miles on these.
