Aging Adventures – 97 Year Old Jumps Out of Plane

by Average Joggler on April 5, 2009

Frequent readers of this blog will know that one of my goals it to live until 107. My plan to get there is to eat healthy, exercise, joggle, floss, and do anything else that might increase my life expectancy.

But I also want to live a happy life. I don’t want to get old and lazy. I don’t want to sit around just waiting to die. That’s why stories like this guy, George Moyse, in the UK who went skydiving for the first time at age 97 is inspiring.

I love this quote from Mr Moyse…

“I do not sit around, I get about, I go for a walk every day and I do my own cooking, washing, ironing, everything,” he said. “I have just been lucky to be so agile.”

I only hope I can be so lucky.

How about you? How long do you want to live?

I’m grateful for every day I have. I take it one day at a time. I hope to be active and independent until the day I die. I did a tandem skydive in my early thirties and thoroughly enjoyed it. Once the chute opened the scary part was over.
