Make Your Own Juggling Clubs

If you like to juggle but don’t want to spend the money on an expensive set of clubs, consider making your own. Jonathan Poppele has put together these detailed instructions for making your own out of a soda bottle and a wooden dowel.
This would be a great weekend project. You can even use [...]

You’re Never Too Old To Learn to Juggle

As a joggling blogger and scientist, I spend a lot of time looking through internet links and scientific papers. Here’s one about some real science looking at the benefits of juggling in older individuals. It was published in the journal Age and Ageing.
It’s interesting. They took a group of 278 older adults [...]

How To Recover From a Juggling Drop

Mercury Worm reports a great story about his first experience joggling a couple miles outdoors. It’s amusing and reminds me of many of my own joggling efforts.  In one part he describes his drops. He was passing someone and right after they said how impressed they were, he dropped a bean bag.

Here’s an interesting study reported on at NPR. It seems that people are able to improve their physical fitness just by thinking about it. This same technique could be used to improve your joggling and even your juggling ability.

Hat Balancing - First Accomplished Goal of the Year

After practicing every day this year for 5 minutes in the morning and sometimes 5 minutes at night, I’ve finally accomplished my goal of balancing a hat on my nose for more than 1 minute. Yesterday, I did it for 1:10.
No video of my PR but here’s one that demonstrates some progress.

So, what’s [...]

Juggling in a Triangle

Bounce juggling is pretty cool but this one is just great. It’s amazing how well the balls bounce in that triangle. This is juggler Michael Moschen.

I wonder how difficult it would be to do some bounce joggling?

Jugglers Don’t Like To Be Called Clowns

Yesterday, I was in the coffee room at work waiting for my tea water to heat up in the microwave. Since it takes 2 minutes, I spent that spare time balancing a wooden brush on my nose. Balancing things on your nose is a great thing to do while you have a couple [...]

The Stick Review - Training Device for Jogglers

For Christmas my fabulous sister-in-law gave me a great gift. It’s a training device called The Stick. It seems like it will be pretty good and already seems to be helping keep my muscles from getting too sore. Here is a short review based on my own experience and research.
What is The Stick?

Juggle While Running - Why Do You Do It?

While joggling along the wet, muddy sidewalks of Chicago listening to the latest episode of The Skeptics Guide to the Universe, I passed a women who looked at me quizzically and asked,
“Why do you juggle and run?”
Without missing a beat I turned around (still juggling of course) ran backwards, smiled and said, “Because I [...]

How to Balance a Hat on Your Nose

Life doesn’t have to be all about running and joggling. It can also be about hat balancing! One of my New Year’s goals was to learn to balance a hat on my nose for more than 1 minute. I don’t really know why I want to possess this skill except for the [...]
