Today, the weather in Chicago is a sunny but balmy 3F (-16C) with 15 mph winds. It’s cold. It’s the cold that stings your cheeks and makes your ears feel like they’ve been cut off. It hurts to be outside.
But no one said keeping a joggling streak alive would be easy. [...]

It starts with a scratchy feeling in the back of your throat.
Then a sinus feels clogged.
Then a blocked ear impairs hearing.
A bit of tinnitus might even sound.
You are officially sick.
Could it have anything to do with the hours of outdoor joggling in the frigid Chicago winter weather?
Running Sick
Serendipitously, the latest issue of Runner’s World had [...]

Today is January 14th and when I joggle my 2 miles later in the day, it will be the 365th day in a row of joggling. That also means the joggling streak can become officially listed on the United States Running Streak Association website. Whoo hoo! Right now there are 161 running [...]

While joggling along the wet, muddy sidewalks of Chicago listening to the latest episode of The Skeptics Guide to the Universe, I passed a women who looked at me quizzically and asked,
“Why do you juggle and run?”
Without missing a beat I turned around (still juggling of course) ran backwards, smiled and said, “Because I [...]

As a streaking joggler, you take many showers. It’s a reality of the sport. You run or joggle, you sweat. You sweat, you smell. And in my world, offensive odor is not endearing.
There have been days when my joggling activities have required me to take 3 showers, morning, noon, and night. [...]

During my joggling run tonight I came to a street light and paused. I looked left and there was no one coming. As I turned to look right, a man came up behind me and said, “Come on man, we can make it.”
Without looking I just followed his lead. He wasn’t joggling [...]

This weekend the weather in Chicago was lousy. On Friday, it was cold and a little rainy. On Saturday, raining ice. And on Sunday, more rain. It made for some incredibly difficult joggling. If you’re curious, the Chicagoist gave the relevant weather statistics.
Since I have no weekend access to a [...]

I was reading Ugly Toes today and saw MG wrote
“Another 3 mile boring treadmill run this morning. Yawn.”
I too have been feeling the dullness of the treadmill lately. This is even despite the fact that I’m joggling on the treadmill.
But it doesn’t have to be that way. Treadmill running doesn’t have to be [...]

It’s been a while since posting an update to the joggling streak so here it is for the curious.
After reading the story about John Chandler’s 25 year running streak, I thought it would be fun to see how long a joggler could go. That was January 15th, 2007 and I’ve joggled at least one [...]

Previously on JYAJ, we featured a story about Brad Alsop who was running 131 marathons in 131 days. Well, I was curious to see how he did and went back to his website to see.
He made it! 131 marathons in 131 days. He ran every day from July 4th to November 11 [...]
