50 Mile Joggling Record Try Tomorrow

The biggest race of my running season will be tomorrow. It will be my first ultra marathon and hopefully a successful breaking of the current 50-mile joggling record of 8:52:07. It was set in 1989 by the most prolific world record setter in the world, Ashrita Furman.
I’m feeling pretty good about my chances. [...]

5 Hours of Running and Juggling Fun

Saturday was the longest joggle of my joggling career - 5 hours. That’s right, I spent about 21% of an entire day joggling. And it was GREAT!
Pre-Run Reaction
One thing you’ll find when training for a marathon (or ultra marathon) is that you are surprised/impressed that you can complete previously unfathomable distances. [...]

Joggling in New York

It seems I do as much traveling as I do joggling these days. Today’s trip brings me to the biggest city in the United States, New York City. It’s a great place and some people here even have an appreciation for joggling. Consider the story of my New York running and [...]

Jay Gatsby and the Longest Run Recap

I gazed at the green light at the end of my cap.”I don’t think you’re going to need that”, she says smirking then adds seriously, “Just be careful. You’re nuts.”
“I really prefer the term…eccentric.”
Of course, joggling is a bit quirky. And running for over 4 hours just for fun? Well, that might seem [...]

The morning of the longest run of your life

The way to train for a joggling ultra marathon is to run and juggle…a lot.
Today, I’m joggling from my house to my sister’s house. The total distance will be just about 30 miles and is the longest I’ve ever run.
I’m looking forward to it. Of course, it’s raining right now. Thankfully, there [...]

Headphones or Not - Which Way is Best

The story of the guy getting hit by lightning while jogging inspired me to leave the headphones at home for tonight’s juggling run. Here’s how it went.
“You’re disgusting”, she said, as I walked through the condo dripping sweat laced rain drops on the wood floors. “And you smell too.” She was right. [...]

Take a joggling tour of Chicago

Yesterday was a beautiful day for joggling in Chicago. Sunny, with just the right temperature. I had a 20+ miler planned and wasn’t feeling great about doing it. Not because I was tired or sore or anything, just because exercising for 3+ hours is a daunting task. I wasn’t looking forward [...]

4 Biggest Challenges of Long Distance Joggling

I don’t usually write about my workouts but this weekend was special because I did a 16+miler yesterday and a 15+miler today. I’ve never done back-to-back 2-hour plus runs and you might be interested in the experience.

Motivation: The hardest part about doing long runs is just [...]

Can joggling make you yawn?

Perhaps my head is too hot. At least that’s the suggestion of researchers of University at Albany on why I’m yawning so much.
Let me explain.
You see, a few weeks ago I noticed that I was frequently yawning. First, I thought it was just tiredness since I’ve only been getting about 5-6 hours of [...]

It’s World Juggling Day Today!

Get out there and let the world know that you are a juggler.
