I prefer to run in the morning because I have more energy and I feel energized for the rest of the day. When I get home from work, I usually want to decompress. Also, 99% of races are in the morning, so it gives you a chance to practice your race day routine. When I run in the afternoon or at night, I always find myself worrying about what to eat, how much to eat, and when to eat it to avoid cramps or an upset stomach. Waiting too late in the day makes it easier for me to make excuses not to run.

I've found that early morning races present a unique challenge to me because I'm so used to joggling in the evening. In particular, I find that I have to be extra careful to time my breakfast properly prior to such races in order to feel energized but not bloated.

Congrats. I've had some dry spells lately. I'm also bordering on coin collecting addiction, as I ponder getting out of the car while at lights if I see a coin at a stop light... j/k. But, it does cross my mind how tempting that would be.

I prefer to joggle in Florida at sunset because I'm too lazy to wake up early to run.
I still joggle some mid-day, but the sun and humidity is brutal.

Way to cash in on the early morning coin spottings.
