Joggler Journal – Running Streak Day 286

by Average Joggler on 08/30/2009

Day 286 of joggling every day for 1000 days in a row.

Summary: Today was a longer joggle which took me 13+ miles. The weather was beautiful for being outside and I was happy the entire run. The first few miles were tough as I felt tired and battled the urge to cut the run short. But I persevered. I’ve got a half-marathon coming up in two weeks and a marathon in another 80 days. My training needs to stay sharp.

On the lakefront I saw many people and got some great comments. A few people even called out “hey joggler!” It seems the term is catching on. That makes me happy.

I’m listening to Mary Shelly’s Frankenstein. It is a thoroughly enjoyable book. It’s interesting that the monster isn’t actually called Frankenstein. I don’t know what it’s name is. hmmm.

It’s a beautiful day for joggling (aren’t they all) so if you get a chance, get out there and get going!

I am going to joggle my 12 miler today, just haven’t got it done yet. It should be nice b/c it’s overcast with isolate thunderstorms in my city.

Thanks!

I’ve put so many joggling miles in that it doesn’t really affect my speed any more (at least not much).

@Joe – have fun! Do you listen to anything while doing a long run like that?

Yes, almost all of my long runs I have my iPod going (except on rainy days). I listen to a nice upbeat playlist (very eclectic mix). Music and joggling go together like peas and carrots.
