Summary: A palindromic day of joggling!
I felt 100% better today and really rocked my 3-mile joggling path. I did it in a speedy (for me) 20:37 which is only 10 seconds slower than my fastest 3 mile workout this year. The previous was 20:27. I think I would’ve beaten that time if I didn’t have a drop in the first 3 minutes. Oh well, it felt great to run fast!
This weekend I’m doing the Hot Chocolate 15K so the rest of the week I’ll take it a bit easier. Admittedly, I haven’t done a lot of long runs during this marathon training session, but after my performance in the Sun Burst marathon, I’m thinking that for me, fast running is more important than building my endurance. I can already run for 26 miles. Now, I need to learn to do it faster.

Have you tried interval training? That’s the only method I know of to really get faster. When I ran my marathon I tried to do Yasso 800′s that I read about in Runners World. I’m not sure how well track workouts would work with joggling, but it definitely made me faster.
@Chris – I have tried interval training in the past. Even did Yasso 800′s (on a treadmill). Didn’t seem to make me faster.
But I always find intervals really tough from a mental standpoint. I frequently slow down or skip some intervals all together. That’s probably why they haven’t helped me much.
Incidentally, I don’t juggle when doing intervals except when I’m on the treadmill.
