Joggling on The Beach

Sandy sneakers sink into the surf
Smashing shells and soaking up salty suds
Ankles tilt towards the ocean
Which rhythmically reaches out
Attempting to pull in the beach and
Everything on it
Knee pressure builds and hurts
Seagulls glide in the wind
Salt sticks on skin
A long silent boat in the distance
Sounds a horn
You look up
Trying hard to ignore it
A wave grabs your shoe
And drenches your foot
