Joggling Streak Day 362

by Average Joggler on 11/14/2009

Day 362 of a quest to joggle at least one mile for 1000 days in a row.

Summary: A beautiful day for joggling. I can’t believe it is November and the weather is so incredible. In the final preparations for the Philadelphia marathon, I decided to do one last “long run”. I specifically tried to go easy and still managed to do a 7:45 / mile pace which gives me great confidence for the race next weekend.

This was a wonderful run. About a dozen people cheered or commented on the joggling. It is an incredible boost to your spirit. At one stop light I ran up next to another runner. He complained, “You’re making me look bad.” I just told him, “I’m not trying to. I practice A LOT so I’ve become a decent runner.” Then I quickly switched the topic over to him and his running plans.

In my younger years, I used to talk about myself a lot. I try not to do it so much any more (said the guy on his self-indulgent blog). I find that life is more interesting when you look for interesting people. If you are the most interesting person you know, that’s a problem.
