Joggling Streak Day 432

by Average Joggler on 01/23/2010

Day 432 of a joggling streak which will last at least 1001 days in a row.

Summary: Yesterday, I considered skipping my day of running. The pain in my left knee is so bad that I can barely walk. Going up and down stairs is excruciating. You might think the pain is from the Frozen Otter Ultra but it’s not. It’s from playing volleyball. I dove to save a ball (saved it) and landed square on my shin bone just below my knee. It must be bruised. I’m hobbling around grunting and wincing in pain any time I move my leg.

But I remembered a story about the guy who kept up a streak for >14,000 days. He actually broke his leg at some point and was able to do his run. There was quite a bit of controversy about it because some claimed his runs during that time were “aided” and shouldn’t could for the streak. Seems silly to me.

Anyway, I figured if a guy with a broken leg can still get out and keep his running streak alive, me and my sore knee could do the same. And I did.

Day 432 of the joggling streak is in the books. Only 12 days until I break my own record.

Good job. I hope that injury doesn’t turn out to be serious.
