Joggling Streak Update – Day 219

by Average Joggler on 06/24/2009

Day 219 of a quest to joggle at least one mile every day for 1000 days in a row.

Summary: Even hotter today. I thought about going for 3 miles again but I’m starting to get bored joggling the same path every day. So, I shortened things up and went for 2 miles only. I’ll run 4 or 5 tomorrow.

On the home stretch I passed a mom pulling her two little girls in a wagon. They looked at me and the mom said, “Hey there’s the juggler!” The girls stared with their eyes wide open and I slowed and did a few juggling tricks for them. They looked at each other and shouted with glee. The mom said “Wow!” I smiled and went along my joggling way. It was fun.

Weather: 93 F, sunny and hot.

Are you ever going to do another 50 mile joggle or a 100 mile joggle?
Just curious about what future plans you have for ultra’s. We should get together a group of long distance jogglers and all joggle a marathon together somewhere… That would be fun to have something like that someday.

Hey Joe,

Yes, I’m going to do another 50 and am planning on doing a 100 miler either in the fall or next spring. I was thinking the Western 100 might be a fun one to joggle. The hard part is that I don’t have a crew. But if we both did it and could put together a crew, we could probably raise a good amount of money for charity.

If you have an ultra race in mind, let me know. I’d be up for a joint effort.

Yeah, I’ve been debating on when to do my first 50. I like the looks of the Dec 13th Tallahassee 50 miler.
The course is 2mile loops, so it’s ideal for aid stations and its on a paved trail in nature in the area of Wakulla Springs which I really like and have been too many times to swim and go on alligator boat tours.

Doing a joint one for charity is certainly a possibility, I wanted to raise money for a charity the next big race I do, definitely. Let me know if you have an idea for one.

That looks great Joe. You’ll have to check the course to make sure you’ll be able to joggle the whole way. Often, ultra marathons have sections that are on trails which can be near impossible to juggle.

I am pretty sure it’s all paved, but I’ll check with the director some time.
