I was starting the process of applying for a try at the Guinness World Record for long distance joggling and found this list of joggling records that Guinness accepts. It turns out there is a bunch of them. Unfortunately, there isn’t one for the 100 mile ultramarathon. We’ll see if they make a new category or require me to break the 24 hour record. I know Tim Butler is planning on breaking the 24 hour record this year so perhaps he’ll set a new mark.

Guinness exclusivity
This would be a much better post if I also included the actual times for these records, unfortunately, Guinness keeps their data secret. Quite annoying actually.
If you want to break a world record in joggling you have to apply for a claim number and they will then send you the time you have to beat. I don’t know why they just don’t publish the information for all to see.
Anyway, here is a list of some of the “unofficial” times that I could track down. I’ll add more as I get them. If you know of a record, let me know and I’ll add it.
3 ball joggling records
8:23:52 Fastest 50 miles joggling – Perry Romanowski (2007)
2:50:09 Fastest marathon joggling – Michal Kapral (2007)

0:04:42 Fastest mile joggling – Will Howard (2003)

They need to add more variety to the records, besides just distance and time records. And, add more ultra-distances like you said (100miler).
Hopefully, they could have records for prop categories such as clubs and balls. (e.g. fastest marathon joggled with clubs). And, joggling backwards, joggling an entire sprint triathlon, number of patterns joggled during a race, joggling Great Wall or other famous spots possibly, etc.
These add interest to the joggling records.
Joe – Guinness is certainly the leader in ‘world records’ but they are unnecessarily secretive and require too many hoops to be jumped through to get anything officially recognized.
For records that you have posed (excellent suggestions) perhaps the better choice is the universal records database.

Thanks, Perry I’ll look into the site. I know they have to draw a limit somewhere, but some different types of joggling records would add interest and variety. How specialized they can go does have some limits probably.
Hey Perry… my wife Trish and I have applied to make an attempt at the 5K (3 object) records… Trish will probably take a couple minutes off the current record and I am hoping to beat 16:55. We don’t know the exact date or location of the attempt yet, somewhere between May and August of this year. We’d like to use the event to raise money/awareness for a worthy cause… we’ve just been too busy to set anything up… and I still need more training. Thanks for all your inspiration!
That’s excellent news Bob!! I would love to see the 5K record broken. I fear it’s beyond my me but it’s stood up for too long. Be sure to keep me posted and I’ll blog, Tweet, and Facebook about it.
