I was going to tell you that it was the burial place of tens of thousands of London's dead after the Black Death or even The Great Plague, but that turns out to be an urban myth. Rallying point of Wat Tyler's Peasant's Revolt (how good a rock band name is that?) in 1381. That'll have to do. And a start point for the London Marathon, of course. Now carry on. Excellent report, with sharp twinges of foreboding for the long miles ahead. I can hardly wait for the pain to begin. <em>The peasants were revolting.</em> Yes, we knew that already.
