Long Distance Joggling Will Help You Live Longer

by Average Joggler on December 2, 2009

While I’ve seen some studies that suggest running marathons can damage your heart (temporarily), there is lots of support that regular exercise has old-man-running-wintersignificant, positive health benefits.

But according to this study published in the journal Circulation, physical exercise like marathon training can actually keep you younger. In the study, they analyzed the blood of endurance athletes. Scientists found that they had increased telomerase activity, more telomere-stabilizing proteins, and other stuff conducive to making you live longer.

Just another reason why joggling marathons will remain a centerpiece for my plan to live until 107.

While you might not want to live that long, this study certainly shows everyone could benefit from more exercise in their lives.
