UK Joggler Tim Butler is branching out and joggling with clubs. Here is a short clip of him joggling the Newark Half Marathon. He reportedly finished in 2:24
I should note that club joggling is extra difficult (at least for me) so this is extra impressive.

Club joggling is fun and visual. Harder, yes. But, not too bad. Mainly, because I find that my club handles get so slippery and sweaty in the summer that I drop them a lot, so I am going to buy some cheaper ones for joggling and try taping them in tennis racket tape. I was using my expensive PX3′s, but I don’t want to tear those up.
I was thinking about adding some arm work into my runs, but am nowhere near this level. I’m lucky if I can catch what I throw. Impressive! I just found your blog and am enjoying it.
Thanks Julie!
I’ve been club juggling some now. I found some tennis racket handle wrap grip that prevents the slipper club handles when sweat builds. It works good. Club juggling is definitely a lot slower for me now, it’s hard to go at a fast pace because of the timing and spinning of the clubs. I am thinking about club juggling a half marathon in Nov. Not sure, yet. But I will joggle it either way.
Tim B: do you have any tips for dropping clubs during a race? I’ve gotten good enough to only drop every 15 minutes or so, but when I do, they really hit the ground and go far which could hurt someone if they rolled an ankle on them. In fact, I’ve been careful with this because a car could easily run over my 40 dollar/each PX3 clubs. I guess I plan to joggle on the exterior and behind most people if I do this, or I’ll just plan to alert anybody behind me when I drop and bend over and try to pick it up as soon as I can. Most drops are collisions I’ve noticed, so sometimes it’s two clubs that drop which makes it tough, plus they roll.
Bottom line: I am going to make sure I am confident and skilled fully in club joggling before I do it in a crowded half marathon. We’ll see.
