Would You Use a Bionic Leg for Running?

by Average Joggler on December 22, 2009

Here’s an interesting invention coming out of Japan. It is a Bionic Knee that promises to make running easier by decreasing bionic legsthe amount of muscle power. You just strap it on the side of your leg and a motor helps make running easier.

They are still in the testing phase however, because the thing weighs 11 pounds. Certainly, any reduced energy will be offset by the extra weight.

But this could be the future of running. Can you imagine track and field events where people are allowed to use augmented limbs to go faster? Or football or baseball with enhanced athletes?

That could be cool! Now if only they could make a device to improve a person’s juggling ability.
