Juggling and Running Streak – Day 60
On a quest to joggle at least one mile every day for 1000 days in a row.
Summary: Although it’s still super cold, I need to get my miles in for the upcoming Red Rock Canyon marathon. My longest joggle during this training time is +8 miles. That’s not far. I need to get in at least a 15 miler, but I’ll probably wait until I go to Florida next month.
Weather: 2 F, partly cloudy – COLD!!
Distance: 3.0 mi – Courtland loop
Time: 3:51 pm
Run time: 25:51
Listening to: Moby Dick – Chapters 133-134
Weight: 195 lbs
Drops: 0
Condition: A little tweak in my ankle but good otherwise.
I completed my first joggling race. I did the Pensacola Beach Half-Marathon as a tune-up/test run race for the upcoming Pensacola Marathon. Went pretty well, talked to people most of the way, got plenty of support and cheers, dropped 3, and joggled a 1:46-1:50 (can’t remember exactly what it said on the finish time).
Excellent job Joe!!
Only 3 drops and finishing in <1:50?! Excellent. You’re on pace for a sub 4-hour marathon. Keep us posted.
Thanks, Perry. I also talked about you and your joggling to those during and after the race who wanted to know more about joggling. Surprisingly, a few people had known about joggling through Runner’s World magazine articles.
I’ll keep you posted on how the marathon goes next month.
Joggle on!
Joe,
I’m going to be in Jupiter, Florida during much of the month of February. Is that anywhere near you?
Just checked out Jupiter on the FL map, and apparently it’s about as close to Pensacola as Jupiter is to Earth. Probably a 9 hr drive, or a mega ultramarathon joggle 🙂
Would be cool to cross paths though, yet I am so far from the rest of “Florida” that most people think of when they think of Florida so it makes it hard to connect with folks in South Florida area.
Pensacola would love to have you as a guest for the Pensacola Marathon… 🙂
