Marathon Stunt Runner Finishes 7 Marathons on 7 Continents in Under 7 Days

There’s a new world record for marathon madness. Richard Donovan finished his 7th marathon on his 7th continent (Australia) and did it in 5 days, 10 hours and 8 minutes.

Here’s where he did it.

1. Antarctica
2. Cape Town
3. Dubai
4. London
5. Toronto
6. Santiago
7. Sydney

That must’ve taken an incredible amount of planning.

The good news is that he wasn’t joggling so any joggler interested in besting this feat only needs to do all the marathons while joggling.

  1. Interesting that he stopped off in Toronto. But a part of me is kinda sceptical. I’m guessing that he didn’t actual run an organized marathon, but run a marathon distance, but who was around to keep him honest? I think i remember reading in Runners world about someone who ran 7 organized marathons in the 7 continents in about a month. I still think that’s pretty impressive.

  2. I’m sure he didn’t run all organized marathons. There is no way the timing would’ve worked out. As far as keeping him honest, he is a famous ultra marathon runner so I’m certain he had a crew of people who kept things on the up-and-up.
